Manufacturing Methods :  aniline diazo, and 4-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid in alkaline conditions coupled.

Properties and Applications: red. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol for scarlet. For the strong sulfuric acid in scarlet, diluted for orange red; In nitric acid solution for palm chestnut. In water solution to join strong hydrochloric acid for red; Add thick sodium hydroxide solution for red light brown; Join rare sodium hydroxide solution for brick red.

    I work in the surfactants group of Huntsman Chemicals and in some formulations we have used Acid Red 33 dye. In most cases the dye is a red colour but we have noticed that it can become brown on long term storage. What is the effect of pH on the colour stability (pH>8) and what is the effect of sulfonic acids, amines carboxylic acids on the colour?.
